Building A Future
After decades of building and enjoying hotrods Darren upgraded his hobby to full time hotrod builder and Cahill's Speed Shop was born in 2015. From humble beginnings in the home shed he quickly outgrew the space and moved operations into the current facility in Stapylton.
Moving forward a few years, the next generation of Cahill's work in the business building hotrods and custom cars. Mason Cahill is Darren's right hand man (and son) and a mechanic to boot. His practical approach to hotrodding and the mechanics behind the build is invaluable in each build.
Sean Cahill has been working at the workshop for a few years now also and is in the car fabrication area.
Experience
Darren has been building hotrods and classic cars for many years for both himself and others .
Mason, a fully qualified Motor Mechanic, also eats, sleeps and breathes all things Motor sport. He is currently volunteering for a Nitro Funny Car team in the NDRC. (National Drag Racing Championships)

The crew at Cahill's Speed Shop pride themselves on building hotrods to the highest quality. We can take your vehicle through the process of Qld certification (LH9 / LH10) or simply guide you along the way.
Consulting
Darren works closely with the Qld TAC (Technical Advisory Committee) to help guide builds to be compliant with current specifications. We specialise in building Hotrods to meet Queensland LH9 and LH10 guidelines. We can arrange all inspections for you including transport to and from Inspections. Bringing a hotrod from interstate? We can also carry out pre-transfer inspections and repairs to meet current guidelines.For post 1949 vehicles we also work closely with approved Engineers to arrange a large range of different modification codes.
